Part of a person’s running gear is his upper and lower clothes. Most runners wear the basic gear of cotton shirts and pants.

While these clothes are sufficient, many experienced runners are now switching to advanced technical running apparel.

Technical running apparel can be considered as the running clothes of the future. They are made of fabric that outperforms all cotton shirts or apparel.

What does that mean? Cotton clothing absorbs sweat from your body when you exercise. While this is superior to poly-cotton shirts, cotton stays wet when enough sweat is absorbed. This makes the shirt heavy. In many cases, you might

feel cold and miserable even on a hot day because the moisture is trapped in the cotton fabric.

On the other hand, technical running apparel is made of fabrics designed to pull sweat away from your body. Because of this property, technical running apparel dries much faster than cotton clothing. The clothing stays relatively dry, making you feel comfy and snug. If you are one of those people who are into run-and-walk programs, this kind of apparel is especially useful. The fabric removes sweat during your running portion so you feel warm during your walk sessions.

This high tech clothing also has another advantage over cotton. Because the items are made out of lightweight and stretchy fabrics, technical running apparel is less bulky than cotton clothing. That means you don’t have to wear a lot of layers when you run on cold days. Instead, you just need to put on clothing made of high tech fabric and cover them with a jacket or a sweater.

is relatively thin. So why are they warm to wear? It’s because the special materials that they are made of provides a good amount of insulation.

Once you’ve tried wearing technical running apparel, you would never want to wear your cotton clothes. Often, people do not realize how uncomfortable their cotton exercise gear until they try the high tech fabric.

Technical apparel can come in as tops, sports bra, tights or even underwear. For a beginner, a long sleeved top is a good place to start with. Then you can proceed to other types of clothing such as tights.

Because of their materials and the way they are made, technical running apparel costs more than other exercise clothing. However, you get your

money’s worth. They last a long time, they are tough and they can make you comfortable.
